CMMC is launching our very own chapter of Lambda Pi Eta! ...Coming soon, In Spring, 2020


The College of Media and Mass Communication (CMMC) is now one of the 500+ communication departments in universities across the world with its very own chapter of official communication studies honor society, Lamda Pi Eta. Lambda Pi Eta (LPH) is the National Communication Association's official honor society at four-year colleges and universities. LPH represents what Aristotle described in The Rhetoric as three ingredients of persuasion: logos (Lambda), meaning logic; pathos (Pi), relating to emotion; and ethos (Eta), defined as character credibility and ethics. Lambda Pi Eta recognizes, fosters, and rewards outstanding scholastic achievement while stimulating interest in the communication discipline. The honor society recognizes outstanding scholars in Communication.  Recognize, foster and reward outstanding scholastic achievement in communication studies. Stimulate interest in the field of communication.  Promote and encourage professional development among communication majors. Provide an opportunity to discuss and exchange ideas in the field of communication. Establish and maintain closer relationships between faculty and students. Explore options for graduate education in communication students. Dr. Kyung Sun Lee will be serving as the advisor of the Chapter. Currently, enrolled students in good standing that meet the above criteria are encouraged to join the steering committee as the College prepares the chapter’s rollout in Spring, 2020.
